🔗 Share this article Vinted Users Share Anger About Sizing Modifications Members of the platform have expressed outrage due to a modification that led to products showing incorrect sizing. The popular resale platform has revised its sizing categories for women's and children's garments without notifying every member regarding the update. Digital Channels Backlash Countless users and merchants are expressing on platforms claiming that product pages now present a different size category than originally posted because of the remapping. The platform stated the revised method more closely matches similar services. They have suggested members to examine their items and adjust the sizing manually when needed, resulting in member annoyance. Measurement Approach Updates Earlier, the sizes had both a single numeric size and a letter, for instance S/8 or M/10. The updated approach includes an alphabetical indicator and numerical range like S/UK 8-10. For certain items, the measurements have been reclassified - such as a large size was formerly size 12 but is now a UK 16-18. User Stories Frankie Bridger, who creates plus-size fashion videos, said the change "makes both selling and buying harder". "Few clothing companies classify XL as 20-22," as the platform currently indicates. Another user, from Glasgow, explained products she uploaded featuring size 14 markings were showing in the marketplace as measurements 20-22. "If buyers measuring 20-22 acquire them they're going to be very disappointed," she stated. Required Changes Charlotte Lunn, located in England, said she had been left angered by the change as she had to manually change the measurements for "each individual item". "For me this is particularly frustrating, since I have chronic health issues and platform income has been essential for me since losing part of my income," she explained. Platform Context The platform boasts over 100 million members, including 18 million in the UK. It has become a favored option versus similar marketplaces including eBay and Depop. This isn't the first time when a surprising modification to the app has proved unpopular: last year, Vinted reversed a change to its shipping options due to shopper criticism.
