The assault caused the temporary shutdown of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park.

An additional two individuals are now in custody in connection with a theft at London's Heathrow Airport in which over twenty individuals sustained injuries by what is thought to be an irritant spray, as stated by law enforcement.

A man, 24, was taken into custody in the Lambeth area on suspicion of theft and assault and a woman, 23 was detained on suspicion of conspiracy to commit robbery. Both individuals are still being held, authorities confirmed.

The arrests come after an investigation into an assault at the multi-level parking garage at Heathrow's Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Before the attack, two women had stolen from them their luggage upon exiting a parking garage elevator.

A three-year-old girl was among the injured in the event. Five people were taken to the hospital for treatment and were later discharged.

Officers arrested a 31-year-old man on suspicion of theft and assault close to the location. He was subsequently released pending further inquiries while inquiries continue.

Authorities were alerted at approximately 8:10 in the morning GMT after reports came in regarding several people hurt by an irritating chemical thought to be pepper spray.

The attack - an event that authorities stated was isolated and not being treated as terrorism - caused train delays and the partial closure of the main airport tunnel and the T3 car park briefly.
