The initial preview for Toy Story 5 appeared this week, offering a glimpse into the plot but leaving fans wondering how it will address the conclusion of Toy Story 4. Bonnie's New Toy: A Digital Device Spooks the Toys In the teaser shows the young girl — who received Andy's toys when he grew up — receiving a brand new toy, one that alarms Woody, Buzz, and the crew. She gets her first tablet computer, and she is excited about it. Presumably, the frog-shaped tablet will come to life just like Bonnie's other toys. However, the toys appear to consider it as a threat intending to supplant them, which it probably is. The Cowboy's Comeback: Mysteries from Toy Story 4 An element the teaser doesn't touch on is why Woody is back with his companions in Bonnie's room. The end of Toy Story 4 saw him embark on a fresh journey with the shepherdess (Annie Potts), journeying with a carnival and assisting prize toys find good homes. Certainly, Pixar will explain the consequences of Toy Story 4 in the film. Witnessing him show up in the familiar setting without warning is a little strange, however. It also raises questions whether Bo Peep will have returned with Woody. And what about the stuntman toy (the star)? The last thing Woody did before departing for his fresh path was pass his sheriff badge to Jessie (Joan Cusack), leaving her as the leader of Bonnie's bedroom. The clip displays the badge pinned to her shirt. It is hoped she is remains the driving force among the toys. Toy Story 5 arrives in theaters on June 19, 2026.
