It's a challenge for Australia to break new ground.

The greatest achievements have been successfully scaled.

We're talking about the squad that has secured seven Cricket World Cups, in addition to another six T20 titles, and once went 1,294 days undefeated in 50-over cricket.

The secondary achievements, the ones sought by the record chasers, are all that remain for a side that has accomplished all there is.

It needed up to Sunday's success by three wickets over India for them to complete their first ODI chase exceeding 300, taking back their record for the highest in the women's 50-over format, is, frankly, a testament to the bowlers that have represented Australia over five decades.

It is hard for their hitters to possess a record if not provided the opportunity.

In the end, the outcome of Australia allowing 330 runs was captain Alyssa Healy receiving a platform to deliver her most recent brilliance.

Initially recognized as the teenage relative of celebrated previous Aussie wicketkeeper Ian, she made her debut in 2010 after her nation couldn't capture either of the T20 or ODI World Cups held the previous year and has experienced everything through 15 trophy-laden years since.

Success in the T20 World Cup happened three months after her debut and seven global championships have resulted from 10 attempts across formats.

The gritty keeper was present as well in Derby in 2017 when a semi-final setback by India briefly halted the run of success.

That loss "motivated us to reevaluate our levels," Healy said this week.

At the subsequent ODI World Cup in New Zealand, Healy made 170 against England in the title decider and was declared player of the series. She ensured her country would not come up short.

The question of whether this recent magnificent innings surpassed that earlier display is debatable.

Many contend the case for final game tension. Some might respond with the challenge that comes when pursuing an unprecedented total and a raucous India-supporting crowd of 20,000.

What's definite is this hundred was much more difficult to see coming.

The Christchurch destruction in 2022 occurred when she was the highest scorer, but this knock was preceded by six games in India from the beginning of the previous month in which she had been unable to reach 30.

"For those following me in the nets, it was a frustrating experience because I feel like I lacked timing whatsoever," commented Healy.

"However when you take the field, your competitive nature activate and you simply focus on the competition."

Healy's competitive nature has consistently been her key asset - and a priceless quality in succeeding famous previous leader Meg Lanning.

She was challenged by India's rising star Kranti Gaud in the previous month's ODI series, fallen to the emerging pace bowler in all three matches, but this time it merely gave Healy's inspiration.

A single was taken off the opening delivery and from that point Healy was in motion.

"The possibility to take the field and face the challenge with her and just have a bit of fun in that aspect, kind of motivated me," stated Healy.

She achieved fifty in 35 deliveries - her quickest at the World Cup - and her hundred in 84 balls as she punished short deliveries, scoring 21 fours and three big hits.

Once she was removed Australia required another 66 at run per delivery - an unconquered height now requiring a leisurely stroll.

"To chase 330 is new territory so I'm happy we have the belief to accomplish that now," stated Healy further.

"Ideally we won't need to do it again but, should it happen, we believe we can do it."

Those words will be the final thing competing nations at this tournament want to hear.

In recent days a sense they will triumph from any situation has only strengthened - this victory succeeding victory over Pakistan by 107-run victory despite sitting at 76-7 at one point.

Following this Australia face Bangladesh before a match against traditional opponents England in Indore in ten days, by which point a semi-final berth may probably be guaranteed.

It was in the semi-finals they exited the prior year's T20 World Cup in a shock defeat by South Africa - a game Healy couldn't play because of torn tissue in her foot as she led her country for the initial instance at a major tournament.

Such is her determination, she afterwards commented she wished she had played with the discomfort.
